Robert Andrew "Bobby" Tyminski Obituary

Robert Andrew Tyminski, “Bobby”, 41, of West Orange, NJ, raised in Irvington, and then Flanders, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 8, 2025.

He suffered from Post Covid Heart and Lung Syndrome, requiring him to have an artificial heart, and then a heart transplant last July. Something went catastrophically wrong, causing the new heart to fail suddenly and without warning.

Bobby was born in April 1984, to Robert G. Tyminski, Sr., and Andrea C. (nee Garofalo) Tyminski. He graduated from Mount Olive High School in 2002. At the time of his graduation, Bobby had completed almost an entire year of college at CCM. He was a self – taught musician and songwriter, often expressing his feelings through his songs. Bobby was often seen sitting on the couch, strumming his guitar and singing – he had a great love of lyrics and the meanings of songs

He worked as a paralegal, became a licensed exterminator, then changed careers and became a limousine driver for the last few years of his life before becoming ill. Bobby was a junior police officer in Flanders in his teens and then later he volunteered as a Flanders firefighter.

Bobby literally lived for his son, Zachary. “With arms wide open, I’ll show you everything. Welcome to this place, I’ll show you love, I’ll show you everything.” These lyrics are from his favorite song by Creed, which was his mantra to his son. Bobby cherished every moment they spent together. Each night, he and Zachary face-timed after dinner until bedtime, saying their good nights, and left their devices on all night long so that Zachary knew that his dad was nearby and watching over him. Bobby will continue to watch over his son, but now as his very own angel. They shared a unique bond.

Bobby was a huge fan of the Las Vegas Raiders, and his cousin Amanda made sure that his room was decorated in Raiders’ colors and merch. He was also a big NY Yankee fan. Bobby loved going to concerts – his favorite bands were Shinedown, Creed, Metallica, Nirvana, and so many other alternative rock bands and other genres. He enjoyed watching Impractical Jokers and Bar Rescue on TV.

Bobby loved going to the Jersey shore and the boardwalk - playing all the games and going on all the rides, especially with his son. Bobby was not a man of many words - he was the epitome of an actions speak louder than words guy. He loved hard…and you knew it. Bobby had a way with little ones. He made them feel loved and safe. He was absolutely the definition of “fun uncle” to his nieces, nephews and his cousins’ children.

Bobby was predeceased by his loving mother, Andrea; his beloved uncles, Philip Aster, and Gary Tyminski; his grandparents, Concetta (Malvaso) and Andrew Garofalo; and Catherine (Binn) and Stanley Tyminski; his bonus Nanny, Catherine M. Moran; and his cousins, Andrew D. Aster, and Stephanie Tyminski.

Bobby is survived by his treasured father, Ronald; his precious son, Zachary; his loving siblings, Ronald Tyminski II (Melissa), Michelle Howell (Raphael), and Alexis Tyminski (Giancarlo Pepin); his adored nieces and nephews, Rayden, Mila, Drea, Thomas and Grayson; his beloved aunts and uncles, Francine M. Aster (CeeCee) with whom he shared a very special bond; Barbara Lucerto, Richard Tyminski, Cathy Meneely, Debi Penta, Ronald Tyminski, William Tyminski, Robert Tyminski, Georgiana Roussakis, Cindy Tyminski, Lorraine Tyminski, Keith Tyminski, Christopher Tyminski and Daniel Tyminski and their spouses; his many, many cousins, including Amanda McKenna, her husband, Reginald and their son Reggie, and Ro and Vinnie Scardino; his Goddaughter, Ava McKenna; his best friend since 3rd grade, Travis Woodward; Zachary’s mom, Marisa Bowman and the Bowman family; and his numerous friends.
