Obituary of Frederick J. Behrle

Frederick J. Behrle, PhD., of Airmont, NY passed away on March 9. He was 89 years old. He grew up in West Orange. He served in the US during World War II and graduated from Cornell University and Michigan State University. Dr. Behrle was a Child Psychologist at Astor Child Guidance, Bronx, NY and retired in 1990. In his retirement he wrote a book about cults. He enjoyed singing, playing bridge and watching his grandchildren grow. He was an active member of the Central Unitarian Church in Paramus. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by wife Ann, and his devoted children Scott (Claire) and Keith (Meryl) and grandchildren (David, Arielle, Jordan, Jacob and Tyler); his sister Jean and brother Jack and many nephews and nieces. A memorial service will be held in the Codey and Jones Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Avenue, Caldwell, NJ 07006 at 11:00am. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 am.
