Obituary of John Eric Pollock

John Eric Pollock, age 83, of Bethlehem, PA, formerly of Caldwell, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at St. Luke's University Hospital of Bethlehem, PA. Relatives and friends are invited for visitation on Sunday, April 10th from 2-6 PM at Codey & Jones Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Avenue, Caldwell, NJ. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, April 11 at 10:00am in St. Aloysius R.C. Church, 219 Bloomfield Avenue, Caldwell, NJ. The interment will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Caldwell, NJ Born in Kearny, NJ, to the late George and the late Janet (Robertson) Pollock. Raised in Paisley, Scotland, Eric graduated from Stowe College of Printing in Glasgow, Scotland. Soon after he met and married the love of his life, Maureen, and together they raised their family in Caldwell. Eric was a volunteer in many venues including; James Caldwell High School Chiefs football team for sixteen seasons as the Kicking Coach, at St. Aloysius Church, and at Cross Trail Squares Dance Club where they were charter members and the first presidents in 1968. He was a active athlete through most of his life as a semi-professional soccer player, table tennis, golf and tennis. Eric retired in 1992 as a printing consultant from Prudential Insurance where he worked for 36 years in Newark & New Providence. He is survived by his beloved wife, Maureen (nee Byrne); devoted children and their spouses, Sharon & James McCarron , Alan & Jodi Pollock; a dear brother: Kenneth Pollock; four cherished granddaughters, Meghan & Nick Tiernan, Kathleen & Wil Danilczyk, Lindsay McCarron and Andi Pollock; and adored great grandchildren, Brynn Tiernan & Charlotte Tiernan and Charlie Danilczyk.
