Obituary of E. Paul Shine

E. Paul Shine, Jr. West Caldwell Resident E. Paul Shine, Jr., 76, of West Caldwell, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 with his family by his side, after a brief illness. Visitation will be held at the Codey & Jones Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Avenue, Caldwell, NJ on Sunday, April 17th from 2-6 pm. A Funeral Mass will be offered at Notre Dame R.C. Church, 359 Central Avenue, North Caldwell, NJ on Monday, April 18th at 11:00 am, followed by the entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ. Born in Orange, NJ to Elmer Paul and Mary (Price), Paul was raised in Newark, NJ and lived in Cedar Grove, NJ before moving to West Caldwell in 1977. He graduated from Seton Hall Prep, Seton Hall University with a Bachelors Degree in Business and Rutgers University with an MBA. Mr. Shine proudly served in the US Army as a 2nd Lieutenant in peacetime. After 25 years in the accounting/quality assurance division of NYNEX/ NYTEL, he retired in 1996. Paul was active for his entire life. He would run in many venues, 5K's and in 1999 he completed the NYC Marathon! Active in the community, he volunteered with the BSA Troop 9 in West Caldwell with his sons, he was also a member of the Caldwell Old Guard. Surviving are his beloved wife of 49 years, Marion C. (nee Kucek); devoted sons and their wives, Brian and Julissa, Kevin and Sarah; a dear brother, Joseph and his wife, Marylyn; a loving sister, Kathleen Walsh; cherished grandchildren, Keith and Sophie; also many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert. In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul's memory to Seton Hall Prep or the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation would be deeply appreciated.
