"Miss" Mead was probably my favorite teacher of all time. She was a lovely, kind woman and had the most beautiful smile. I remember running into her at Albert's candy store on Central Avenue when I was older, possibly in Jr. High, and she recognized me right away. I was astonished and pleased beyond words that she remembered me.
My deepest sympathy to her family and friends.
