Obituary of Violet Spittle

Violet Spittle, of West Caldwell, NJ, passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 25, 2014. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the Codey & Jones Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Avenue, Caldwell, NJ (973-226-6696) on Tuesday, January 28th from 6 pm to 9 pm only. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Aloysius R.C. Church, Caldwell on Wednesday, January 29th at 11:00 am. The interment will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Caldwell. Violet was the daughter of Harry & Mary Rizzio and was born in the family home in Caldwell. She lived in Newark and graduated from Barringer High School. She married and moved to West Caldwell in 1942. Mrs. Spittle was a 1954 graduate of Panzer College in East Orange, NJ with a Bachelors Degree in Teaching. She was a school teacher for 42 years in the Union City Public Schools, retiring in 1992. Violet was a member of several Senior Organizations in the communities of Caldwell, Parsippany – Lake Hiawatha, Glen Ridge and Verona. Surviving are her beloved husband of 59 years, Vincent, Sr.; devoted children Vincent, Jr., with his wife Elizabeth and Joyce Spittle; dear sister Mildred Hillman; loving grandchildren, and their spouses, Jennifer (Bill) Reinhardt, Valarie (Dave) Marrero, Kathryn (James) Ammann and Christine Spittle; cherished great grandchildren William and James.
