Obituary of Ralph Tango

Ralph Tango, 90 of Fairfield passed away on June 8, 2016. Funeral is from the Codey & Jones Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave. Caldwell on Monday at 8:30 AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas More Church, 12 Hollywood Ave. Fairfield at 10 AM. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Visitation is on Sunday from 4-8 PM. Born in Newark, Ralph lived in Fairfield since 1964. He proudly served in the Army in World War II, earning an American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal and World War II Victory Medal. After graduating school as a licensed radiological technician, Ralph completed John Marshall Law School, earning his JD. He then worked as the Clerk of the Juvenile Court in Newark from 1956-1959, later working as an aid to Judge Alex Mattuori. In 1959, Mr. Tango began a long, illustrious career with Allstate Insurance Company as a divisional claims manager for the State of New Jersey. He also enjoyed trips to the racetrack and to Atlantic City. Ralph was the beloved husband of 64 years to Veronica (nee Ilaria); loving father of Ralph, Jr. and his wife Laura and Richard M. and his wife Nancy; and grandfather of Michael, Gregory, Victoria and Richard J. He was the brother of the late John and Guido Tango, cousin of Vincenza Farco and the late Mario Farco, and uncle of Patricia Calvani and Ellen Mascola. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Tango's memory may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
