Obituary of Peter D. Davis

Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Restaurateur, Real Estate Broker Peter Davis, 86, of West Orange, NJ, formerly of South Orange, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 5, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 4-8 pm at the Codey & Jones Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Avenue, Caldwell, NJ 07006. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 10:00 am in St. Aloysius R.C. Church, 219 Bloomfield Ave., Caldwell. Interment is private. Born Newark, NJ to Gustave and Lena Dedoussis, Peter was raised in Newark and lived in South Orange before moving to West Orange in 2006. Peter graduated from Seton Hall Prep, where he was a 1996 Hall of Fame inductee, and Upsala College with a bachelor degree in business administration where he was the starting quarterback. Mr. Davis proudly served in the US Army during peacetime and was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant. He was a real estate broker and owner of Peter Davis Real Estate in Parsippany, NJ as well as a successful restaurateur in New Jersey. He owned and managed the Stuft Shirt in South Orange, The Wooden Horse in Clifton, NJ and Chit Chats in Morristown, NJ, he also managed Quincy's Place in West Orange. Surviving are his wife and the love of his life, Gail A. (nee DeSomma); devoted children, Blake and his wife, Randy, Cari Davis, Justin and his wife, Emma and Traver; loving sister, Ethel Gilroy and her husband, Robert; cherished grandchildren, Benjamin, Alexander, Jessica, Charles, Stella and Miller; also beloved dog, Chelsea. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Matthew(Mel) Dedoussis and sister, Evelyn Sadimas. In lieu of flowers, donations in Peter's memory to Seton Hall Prep or the Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated.
