Evelyn T. Martin Lifelong Teacher Evelyn T. Martin, of West Caldwell, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, February 16, 2014. She was 78 years old. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the Codey & Jones Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Avenue, Caldwell, NJ (973-226-6696) on Thur., Feb. 20th from 4 – 7:30pm. A service will follow at 7:30pm. The interment is private. To extend condolences or share a memory, please visit codeyjonesfh.com. Evelyn was born in Atlanta, GA, raised in Long Island and has lived in West Caldwell since 1965. She was a graduate of William Paterson College with a bachelors degree in education and a masters degree in special education. Mrs. Martin was a teacher for many years at Montclair Kimberly Academy. Prior she had taught at several area schools and tutored students privately. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church at Caldwell where she lovingly cared for the children in the nursery for many years and belonged to several church groups. Evelyn also enjoyed numerous activities including book and bridge clubs. Surviving are her 3 children, Kathy, John and Thomas Boone; also 3 grandchildren Matthew, Will and Sarah. In lieu of flowers, donations to the West Essex First Aid Squad, PO Box 662, West Caldwell, NJ 07007-0662, would be greatly appreciated.
