Obituary of Helen W. Oliphant

Helen W. Oliphant Centenarian of West Caldwell Presbyterian of Scottish Heritage Helen W. Oliphant lived a remarkably independent 100 years! She passed away peacefully on December 29, 2017 with her loving family by her side. Visiting will be held at the Codey & Jones Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave., Caldwell, NJ on Tue., Jan. 2, 2018 from 4-7 pm. A funeral service will be held in the First Presbyterian Church at Caldwell, 326 Bloomfield Ave., Caldwell on Wed., Jan. 3, 2018 at 11:00 am. Born and raised in Kearny, NJ, Helen was the daughter of Thomas and Barbara (Wallace) Wallwork. She met and married the love of her life, the late Roland Oliphant and together they raised their family. They moved to their home in West Caldwell in 1961 where Helen has since lived. Helen was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church at Caldwell where she was a longtime member of the Women's and Circle Fellowships. She was also a 50+ member of the Caldwell Women's Club. Surviving are her devoted children and their spouses, Glenn and Patricia Oliphant and Lois and Earl Jackson; loving grandchildren, Jennifer Rooney, Earl, IV, Melissa Disbrow, Christopher Jackson, Greggory Oliphant, Kimberly Jackson and Jaclynn Delessio; also 13 cherished great grandchildren. In addition to her beloved husband, Roland, she was predeceased by her brother, Dr. Edward Wallwork. In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen's memory to the First Presbyterian Church at Caldwell Memorial Fund or the West Essex First Aid Squad would be deeply appreciated.
