I am just now hearing of this and am so sorry for all of you. Bill was a good friend to me in Blacksburg. After I was beat up at the Marriott by a football player where he was a bouncer, he protected me. Unfortunately he put himself in harm's way and they came back and beat him up. He told me he would do it again and was glad I was ok. He was a sweet soul who cared deeply. I will miss him. I am so sorry he felt this was his only option. Praying for you all.

My sincere condolences to the family.
I met Bill when he worked at the NYSE. He was very smart and hard working, giving 110%. Bill was a very warm-hearted person with a great sense of humor. Always kind to others and willing to lend a hand. It was a pleasure to know him. I will always remember his smile. Rest in peace.

It must have been around 1990 or so when I was bugging Ray Smalley for help with our hardware inventory application. He directed me to "a very smart guy" that turned out to be Bill D. He loved a challenge and pretty much helped us on our project pro-bono. I'm sure Bill wasn't cut any slack on his ITPN deliverables. Far too soon for this good man to leave us. My condolences to his family.

The old saying is "Only the good die young" Billy added some proof to that one. He was ultra friendly, to say the least. His personality would light up any room he was in and for me working with Bill was a learning experience. I will always count Bill as one of the blessings that I had in my life. To Bills family my condolences for your loss.

My deepest sympathies to the family.
There is much I want to say, so many good things I can say about Billy - smart, athletic, good-looking, engaging personality. I was not a close friend, but Billy made me feel like I was. He was a good guy, someone that treated so many people as friends, someone who was there with a favor when you needed him. I admired him greatly for his work ethic and his ability to seemingly accomplish anything he put his mind to (such as completely rebuilding a 70 Mustang fastback from the ground up as a teenager). I will always remember his entertaining stories about cars, motorcycles and his latest adventures. I'm so glad that I was able to know him, he certainly added color to my life and the lives of so many. I can picture his smiling face as if high school were yesterday. Rest in Peace Billy.

As I read your expressions it is clear to see, this is not the life that God intended to be. In the beginning, life of man was meant to last, but with the sinning of our first parents that soon came to past. As much as it hurts by the loss of a loved one. God promises to give us all another run. In the Bible, it comforts and strengthen as He speak of a resurrection soon to come. (Acts 24:15) My deepest condolences on your loss.

I am so happy and blessed to have had the chance to know Billy. He is one of the most generous, amazing and kind persons I have ever met. Always dedicated to others often to the detriment of himself. What he accomplished during his life down here deserves respect. Such a beautiful man!
Dear Family, please receive my sincere condoleances. Billy will be missed and he will never be forgotten. May his soul rest in peace.

Deepest condolences to Michael and to all of the family from Miki, Joe, Danny and me. As Billy's older cousin I watched him grow up as a baby, kid, teenager and adult. He was always an incredible guy -- very smart and strong -- physically and mentally -- with a great sense of humor and, most importantly, solid empathy and generosity for family, friends and others. What a terrible tragedy this is. Billy will be missed by me and my family and by everyone else who loved him.

We are so saddened to hear this news. Since we moved into our home, Billy was a tremendous neighbor and friend to our family and after Mrs. DeStefano passed, we were sad to see him go. Billy loved to share stories of growing up and how our backyards "used to be". We would share duties and either mow one another's lawns or snow shovel each others's walks - that is until Mary came into the family and was eager to take those duties from all of us (ha!). Billy loved when we were in the yard with the kids or our family and would always come over to chat.
Billy was one of the sweetest people we have come to know. He cared for his Mother, loved his family and will be deeply missed.
