Robert T. Pipczynski Patriot & US Veteran Robert T. Pipczynski, 72, of Caldwell, NJ, passed away Friday, April 20, 2018, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in East Orange, NJ. A lifelong resident of Caldwell, Pipczynski served in the Marine Corps in Viet Nam shortly after graduating from James Caldwell High School. After his service, he graduated from Montclair State College and began a career in banking. While working in at First Fidelity bank in Newark, his quick actions thwarted a robbery and saved the life of a young child. He was cited for his heroism. Pipczynski served in several leadership roles at the American Legion James Caldwell Post 185, and was a member of the Viet Nam Veterans' Association and the Disabled American Veterans. He was committed to his fellow veterans, often offering advice to help other veterans secure their benefits. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Pipczynski was known for his culinary prowess and his generosity. For years he brought friends and family together for holiday and other gatherings. Everyone was welcome in his home. He leaves nephew Ronald Pipczynski., his wife Christine and their children, Joseph and Courtney; nephew Randall Pipczynski; cousin Steven Danielczyk, his wife Alrie, and their children Kevin and Elaine; and many cherished friends. He was predeceased by his parents Chester and Susan (DePalma) Pipczynski, and his brother Ronald Pipczynski and sister-in-law Joyce (Fisher) Pipczyknski. The family will receive friends at the Codey & Jones Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Avenue, Caldwell, NJ 07006 on Thursday, April 26, from 4-8 pm, with honors bestowed by the American Legion James Caldwell Post # 185at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Aloysius R.C. Church, 219 Bloomfield Avenue, Caldwell, NJ on Friday, April 27, at 10:00 am. The interment with Military Honors will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Caldwell. To extend a condolence or share a memory, please visit www.codeyjonesfh.com.
