My heartfelt condolences to the family. I am so sorry for your loss. May you find comfort through the loving and happy memories of your dear loved one, Joseph. May you also look to our loving Heavenly Father, the GOD of all comfort, to provide what you need at this very sad time. (2 Corinthians 1:3,4, Psalms 83:18). He promises us that very soon, "He will wipe every tear from our eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." Revelation 21:3,4, Isaiah 33:24. He also promises us that there will be a resurrection of our loved ones that we have lost in death, and they will have the opportunity to live forever in perfect health in Paradise right here on earth. (John 5:28,29, Psalms 37:10,11). What wonderful promises! Can you imagine a time on earth when there will be no more sickness, pain or death? May all of God's promises give you a measure of comfort, peace, hope and strength. I have personally found very comforting information on jw.org.

Having lived next to the McDonough family in West Orange for many years, Joe was a wonderful neighbor and friend. We’ve enjoyed our conversations with him and he always greeted us with a warm smile and cheery disposition. May his memory serve as a blessing to Angie and Andrea.

Joe was my dear friend and neighbor in Florida for more than 21 years. He was the kindest, most generous, most gentle, most loving husband and father, so proud of Andrea, so tenderly caring for Angie. I will forever miss his quick smile and friendly wave as he drove off to dinner each day. My sincerest condolences to family and friends, he was truly one of a kind.

Growing up, my Uncle Joe was my best friend in the whole world. He was the one who sat and watched me perform my favorite songs for hours on end because I needed an audience. He was the one who played Connect Four and Battleship with me every week (even if I lost every time because he always cheated). He was the one who played hide and seek with me, and took me to Costco after school just so we could get free samples and hot dogs. He taught me to be kind and generous with his big heart, and to never take myself too seriously. When I was little he would tell me to go and find Aunt Angie so that I could tell her in his own words that “she was a pain and Uncle Joe was an angel.” Uncle Joe: you are an angel, and you will always be in our hearts. I know you’re enjoying an endless supply of Burger King burgers and beer up there in heaven.
Rest in peace, Uncle Joe. I love you.

Uncle Joe,
Your smile was always warm and welcoming. Thank you for your generosity and kindness throughout the years. I know you have already experienced a little heaven on Earth. After all, you married the kindest and most caring woman and you raised a daughter with a heart of gold. Rest In Peace in heaven with the Lord and all your loved ones who are there waiting for you. Please give my mom a big hug and kiss for me.
Love,
Ann Marie Uzzolino

The morning that I learned Joe McDonough passed away I was immediately overwhelmed with a great sadness; however, I also knew at that very moment that Joe McDonough was already in heaven. He truly was the kindest, most generous and thoughtful man I have ever met. I met Joe McDonough about 40 years ago and I remember saying to Andrea “your father is the most handsome out of all my friends’ fathers” and he remained handsome into his eighties! He was just as beautiful on the inside. The entire McDonough family has been a blessing to me and my heart truly hurts for this great loss. Thank you Mr. McDonough for everything; you were truly a blessing in my life. Rest in peace. Viv
