He and his wife Melissa lived there before moving to West Caldwell 7 years ago where they have been raising their family. Mr. Ryder was a general manager in the restaurant / bar business in Jersey City, NJ, most recently working for Gull Bar, Inc. An active part of the community he took every opportunity to volunteer, coach and spend time with his fantastic sons and adoring wife. Another passion of Scott's was music, he was a bassist, a song writer and was a member of several bands from an early age. He is survived by his beloved wife, Melissa (Funari) , 2 loving sons Weston and Keaton, a brother Robert (Susan) Ryder, a mother-in-law Andrea Funari and a brother-in-law and his family Greg (Jenna) Funari and their children Julia, Isabella and Zofia. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ryder Children's Education Fund, PO Box 1665, West Caldwell, NJ 07007-1665, would be greatly appreciated.
