Beloved spouse, friend, sister, and aunt
Jilly, 60 of Nutley, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2019 with loved ones by her side.
Jilly was born in Allentown, PA. She was a graduate of Allen High School, where she was a standout basketball player. Jilly continued her basketball career at Montclair State, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education and a Master's Degree in Athletic Administration. After graduation, she was then a player coach for the first women's pro league in the United States, the New Jersey Gems.
Following Jill's playing career, she was an assistant basketball coach at Northeastern University as well as The University of Notre Dame. She then returned to her Alma Mater, Montclair State to become the head Women's Basketball Coach.
Following her coaching days, she was an agent for womens basketball players who played overseas. Wanting to be closer to home, Jilly then switched careers, and worked as a technical recruiter.
Jilly was a lifelong athlete. She became an avid runner, running multiple distant road races and completed three half marathons in the last two years. Jilly loved her family and spent most of her time loving them. She is survived by her loving spouse of 27 years, Kim Wilson; her dearest friends Patty Quilty and her husband Neil; Bill Lampeter and Mark Bloomfield; her nieces Shannon and Kelly Byrne; her loving siblings Vickie Hasara, Robert Jeffrey (Jean), Jobyna Jeffrey (Ed Coyle), Robin Jeffrey (Natalie); her mother in law Donna Kern; her sister in law Jennifer Christian (Sandy); She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
She is predeceased by her parents, Robert and Jacqueline Jeffrey.
