Beloved Wife and Faithful Presbyterian

 

Georgianna Phyllis Brixius, 78, of West Caldwell, NJ, peacefully passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at the West Caldwell Care Center.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 20th at 11:00 am in the First Presbyterian Church at Caldwell, 326 Bloomfield Ave., Caldwell, NJ. The interment will be private in the Old Burial Ground. Arrangements in care of the Codey & Jones Funeral Home of Caldwell.

Born and raised in Newark, NJ she was the daughter of the late George and May (Metzger) Clay.

Georgianna worked as a private secretary and bookkeeper for the William Howard Cleaners in Dover for several years.

She was active in the Kilburn Memorial Presbyterian Church in Newark, where she sang in the choir; Christian Endeavor; the First Presbyterian Church of Dover, where she taught Sunday school and sang in the regular and oratorio choirs; the First Presbyterian Church at Caldwell; the Girl Scouts of America, where she received the Curved Bar Award; and the Caldwell / West Caldwell Seniors.

Georgianna was a dedicated volunteer for several years at Dover General Hospital.

Surviving are her devoted husband, William C. Brixius; loving brother, Dana Clay; dear sister-in-law, Dorothy Stoll; her church family and friends at the Caldwell / West Caldwell Seniors.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Georgianna to the American Cancer Society would be deeply appreciated.
