Dennis J. McCole, 77, of West Orange, NJ, peacefully passed away at home on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 with his loving family by his side.
Visitation will be on Fri., Oct. 18 from 4-7 pm at the Codey & Jones Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave., Caldwell, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Sat., Oct. 19 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Valley R.C. Church, 518 Valley St., Orange, NJ. Interment will be private. Born in Manhattan, NY to the late Charles and Cecelia (Kirkpatrick) McCole, Dennis was raised in New York before moving to West Orange in 1977.
Dennis was a longtime employee of Verizon, retiring as a technician in Millburn, NJ. Upon retiring he worked for The Township of West Orange driving the senior bus. He also served his country in the US Army as a Military Police Officer.
He was a fun-loving person & creative thinker who enjoyed movies, film history, reading, and music and most of all spending time with his loving grandchildren. His contagious spirit always filled the room with joy and laughter.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 45 years, Patricia Ann (nee O'Connor); devoted son, Dennis P. McCole and his wife, Lisa and beloved grandchildren, Matthew, Timothy, and Caitlyn; loving brother, Charles McCole and wife Mary, Loving sister, Maureen McCarthy and Husband Michael, Sister in law Rosemary Sayers and Husband Jack, Brother in law Tom O'Connor and wife Patricia, Sister in Law Nancy Allonardo and husband Anthony, Brother in Law Edward O'Connor and his many loving nieces and nephews.
