Obituary of Margaret Mary McGinley
A fine Irish-Lady, Margaret Mary McGinley, a longtime resident of West Orange, NJ peacefully passed away at home on Tuesday, February 11, 2020.
Join the McGinley family as they celebrate her life with a visitation on Friday, February 14 th at the Codey & Jones Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave., Caldwell, NJ, a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, February 15 th at 10:00 am in St. Joseph's R.C. Margaret was born in Tournafulla, County Limerick, Ireland to Richard and Ida O'Mahony. She came to America and lived a while in New York before settling in West Orange to raise her three boys.
She was a devout Catholic who loved her Irish heritage and family. At St. Joseph's she was a member of the Catechumenate and at St. Cecelia's in Rockaway a member of the Rosary Society. She would march every year with the Women of Irish Heritage in the West Orange St. Patrick's Day Parade. Being a longtime member of the Augustinians in West Orange brought her great joy.
Surviving are her loving son's and their families, Gary Owen McGinley and his sons, Brendan & Aidan and their mother, Cynthia; Liam James McGinley, his wife, Lauren, and their sons, Connor & Owen; Sean Joseph McGinley and his daughters, Madison & Cadence, and their mother, Carole. Her dear brother, Neil O'Mahony and devoted sisters, Noreen & Joan O'Mahony; also many nieces & nephews back in Ireland. In addition to her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her brothers, Timmy & Michael.
