Please share a memory of Victoria to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Victoria "Vicki" Mary Freda tragically passed away on April 24, 2020 from Covid-19. Born in Newark, New Jersey on January 19, 1937 to Alexander and Angelina (nee Avella) Baranello. She was married to her husband, Lawrence, Jr. for over 62 years until his passing on the same day. In death, as in life, they were inseparable. She was predeceased by her son John. She is survived by her sons, Lawrence, III and his wife Mary; Alexander and his wife Joanne; siblings Joseph, Alexander, Jr., John and Barbara and their spouses, Marie, Jean, Suzanne and John; 6 grandsons, Matthew, Kevin, Alexander, Jr., Brian, David and Adam; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was a graduate of Westside High School in 1954. She was a Fairfield NJ resident for over 58 years and was known and loved throughout the area and beyond for being a caring, quick-witted, social butterfly.

She worked in many capacities at the Township of Fairfield Municipal Building over the years. Her final position before retiring in 2007 was as Executive Secretary to the Mayor.

Vicki had numerous hobbies over the years, including being a skilled crafter, making halloween costumes, art projects and ornaments for any family member or friend that made a request. She also enjoyed writing customized poems for family and friends' special events. She also spent many years as a den mother in the Cub Scouts for her three sons.

She loved and valued her large Italian family above all else. Taking great pride in the closeness she kept with her large, extended family. Every year, for over 50 years, her and her siblings have taken turns hosting a large Christmas party. Vicki cherished these parties and always loved taking her turn to host them.

In her later years, her greatest pleasure was being a full-time grandmother. She attended her grandchildren's every sporting event, no matter what the weather. She was more than a familiar face in the crowd, and the grandmother everyone wanted to call their own. She never missed a play or a choir that her grandsons participated in. She wouldn't miss an opportunity to take her grandsons to lunch or dinner. She was always cracking jokes, enjoyed playing cards and loved to reminisce about growing up in Newark and being a big sister. Vicki gave great advice and was an even better listener. Vicki and Larry also enjoyed their trips to the casino and they always had fun whether they won or lost.
