Richard A. Blasi, 63, of West Orange, NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 20, 2020 with his family by his side.

Born and raised in Newark, N.J., Richie was a long-time resident of West Orange, NJ. He was the son of the late Anthony and Margaret Blasi. He met and married the love of his life, the late Colleen (Rosen) and together they shared a life full of many happy memories.

Rich retired as a salesman after many years at Continental Aero in Lyndhurst, NJ. He enjoyed time spent with his family, horse racing and the NY Giants.

Mr. Blasi was active with the West Orange Elks and was a former Exalted Ruler.

Surviving are his son, Richard Gruchacz; granddaughter, Carol-An Ramirez; sister, Linda; brother Anthony and sister in law Elyse; brother Larry; nephews Anthony and Mathew and three great nephews.

Friends are invited to visit with the family briefly on Wednesday, June 24 from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm at the Codey & Jones Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave., Caldwell, NJ. Please wear face masks and keep a safe distance from one another. Visitors will be limited based on occupancy and there may be a brief wait.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Rich to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).
