John P. Celusak, 68, of Hopatcong, NJ, peacefully passed away at home on August 19, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He was lovingly cared for by his family at home since his illness worsened. The family wanted him at home where he could be loved and cared for with tenderness.

Born in Newark, NJ to the late John R. and the late Charlotte (Schaefer) Celusak, John was raised in Essex Fells, NJ, and lived in Hopatcong, NJ for many years.

John worked at NECA in Whippany, NJ for 30 years as a technical specialist.

Surviving are his children, Jennifer and her husband, John D'Agostino and Christopher; brothers, Rich and Larry; and four loving grandchildren, Julianne, Jacqueline and Joanna Travisano, and Devon Celusak; cherished niece, Jamie Celusak; aunts, Margie Reinhardt and Jean Robinson and her husband, Charles; many cousins; his fur-friends, Monte, Ben, Holly and Rocco; also a plethora of friends in many places.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Rebecca; granddaughter, Christine; brother, Robert

John was a friend to all, whether at home, work, a local tavern, neighbors and just about anyone who met him. He was an intelligent man who surprised anyone who engaged him in conversation.

A walkthrough visitation will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2020 from 3-5 pm concluding with words shared from the family.
