Obituary of Maria A. Dean
Loving Daughter, Mother, Sister & Grandmother
Maria A. Dean, 62, of Sussex Borough, NJ, passed away on September 16, 2020.
Maria was born in Newark, NJ to Peter and Vera (Blasco) Santangelo and raised in West Caldwell. She graduated from James Caldwell High School and earned an Associates Degree.
Maria was a devout Catholic and helped many on her journey. "She was the best mother to not only her children by birth but so many others by circumstance." She was the brightest white light in our lives, she gave of herself more than anyone would ask for in return. She had an infectious laugh and was a wonderful poet.
Maria is survived by her caring mother, Vera Santangelo; devoted daughters Christy, Alanna (Nick) and Nicole; her beloved brother William Santangelo; her adored sister, Alyssa (Jeff) O'Neill and her cherished grandchildren, Aliyah and Kamiron; as well as many friends. She was predeceased by her father, Peter in 2017.
Please join the family for a visitation on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 from 10:30am to 12:15 pm at the Codey & Jones Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Avenue, Caldwell, NJ. A Mass will be celebrated at St. Aloysius R.C. Church, 219 Bloomfield Ave, Caldwell at 12:30pm and interment will follow at 1:45pm at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
