Obituary of Florence Elizabeth Ilg

Florence Elizabeth Ilg, 72, of West Orange, passed away suddenly on Monday, January 18, 2021.

Florence was born in Orange, NJ to Francis & Betty Jean (Owens) Ilg and grew up in East Orange, later moving to West Orange. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees and was a teacher for the Newark Board of Education.

Florence was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Valley Church in Orange. She loved animals, especially her dog, Morgan.

Predeceased by her parents, Florence is survived by her cherished siblings; sisters Pamela, Frances and Kate; brothers James and William; their spouses and children; and many friends.

Services are private and arranged by Codey & Jones Funeral Home of Caldwell. A memorial to celebrate Florence’s life will be held when we can all safely gather.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Florence’s memory to St. Jude or Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter would be appreciated.
