Jack was the son of Edward McCormack and Margaret Brown McCormack. He was born in New York City, NY in 1930. The family moved to the Caldwells in 1932 where he lived the rest of his life. Jack attended St. Benedict's Prep and received a Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering from Newark College of Engineering. After graduating from college he served in the army as an engineer during the Korean War before joining the Enright Refining Company/Heraeus where he worked for 41 years from 1953-1994.

Jack loved his life. He loved his wife Ann of 55 years, his four children and nine grandchildren. He loved working outdoors, tending his garden growing great Jersey tomatoes, and he loved he people of Caldwell. In retirement Jack walked two miles every morning to buy the paper, saying hello to all he met, and always stopping by Franco's barbershop and Rockin Joe's Coffee Shop.
A man of unsurpassed kindness, generosity, commitment and joy- he will be missed by his family and all of Caldwell.
