Obituary of Michael P. Ciosek

The family of Michael P. Ciosek, of Rockaway Township, New Jersey, is sad to announce his sudden passing at home on Sunday, March 28, 2021. They would like you to remember him hiking his favorite trails alongside his love, Ruth Perras, with a smile on his face and a chocolate in his pocket.

Michael was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts to Peter and Dorothy (Barre) Ciosek. He and his two sisters were raised in Fairview, Massachusetts. Michael lived in San Diego, California and Garfield, New Jersey before moving to Rockaway twelve years ago.

Twelve years ago is when he met and fell in love with Ruth Hein Perras. They married in 2010 and together they shared many happy memories that will last in the hearts of family and friends. Most of those memories are of the outdoors and hiking the trails and mountains of Northern New Jersey - Raccoon Ridge and Stairway to Heaven, and in New York - Harriman State Park

Surviving are his beloved wife, Ruth Hein Perras, devoted children, Jamie Favoccia, Erika Day with her husband Jim, Nicole Fuller with her husband, Greg and Charles Perras with his wife, Sue, Tiffani Trobough with her husband, Trent; loving sisters, Karen Stocksett and her husband, Robert Faust and Christine Duryea with her husband, Jack; cherished grandchildren, Reese, Matthew, Jessica, Jackson, Noah, Evan, Katherine, Andrew, Hunter and Hudson.

Join the family as they gather to celebrate Michael's life at the Codey & Jones Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Avenue, Caldwell, New Jersey with visitation on Wednesday, March 31st from 5-8 pm. A prayer service will be held on Thursday, April 1st at 10:00 am in the funeral home, followed by the interment at Rockaway Valley Cemetery in Boonton Township, New Jersey.
