Elizabeth C. Giblin of West Orange died on April 14, 2021 at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ at the age of 82. Elizabeth was born in 1939 in Newark, NJ, the loving daughter of Anthony and Christine (Oppido) Codella.

Elizabeth graduated with a Nursing degree from St. Joseph's Nursing School in Paterson, NJ in 1959. She served in the federal program known as USAID during the Vietnam War from 1967 - 1968, as an Emergency Room nurse, where she was responsible for setting up operating rooms and central supply systems for the community hospital. Elizabeth went on to work at Irvington General Hospital, taking on the role of Supervising Nurse in the Emergency Room. She was then promoted to Administrator in the Utilization Department. Elizabeth was passionate about learning and received her BA and MA degree in Early Childhood Education from Kean College. She then moved to the Veteran Administration Hospital in East Orange, NJ, where she held multiple medical administrator positions until retirement.

Elizabeth was known to many as Liz or Aunt Beth. She enjoyed traveling the world, she loved to drive into New York City and go to the Opera and take her nieces and nephews to the Museum of Natural History, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and to the top of the Empire State Building. Elizabeth enjoyed skiing in the Poconos and renting summer houses in Manasquan to spend time with family and friends. She traveled with her husband to Florida twice a year to visit with her father, stepmother, and brother. Elizabeth enjoyed entertaining and having her annual Family Christmas party with her husband.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents, Anthony and Christine Codella; stepmother, Katherine (Lampariello) Codella; and sisters, Angela, Emily, Rose, Anne, and Marion.

Surviving is her beloved husband of over 36 years, John J. Giblin, III; his children, John P., Kevin Michael, Eileen Duka, and their families; her sisters, Dolores Waltsak and Lucille Codella; her brother, Anthony Codella and his wife Veronica; a host of loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, godchildren and forever friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 26, 2021 at 10:30AM in St. Aloysius RC Church, 219 Bloomfield Ave, Caldwell. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 225 Ridgedale Ave, East Hanover. Services are in care of the Codey & Jones Funeral Home of Caldwell.
