John and I are very sorry to hear of "Nanny" Kay's passing. I remember the last time I stopped by her apartment and we had a very nice conversation and I was happy to sit and chat with her. She was a wonderful woman and will always be remembered. May she rest in the sweetest of heavenly peace.

For 1/2 my childhood you lived in our house and were a large part of raising me. Our special alone time when you watched me when mommy and daddy were working. We’d go swimming, or shopping, watch your soaps or Disney movies, ud teach me how to make pea soup and look for the stones in the lentils. Then when I was a bit older and I’d spend weekends w you are some of my favorite memories. As I grew into adulthood and lost myself you were always my biggest cheerleader keeping me strong. The first person I told when Mark proposed. I will miss our phone calls and little talks thank you for being my grandma take care of daddy for me now. Xoxo Samantha

Dearest and Sweetest Nanny,
How I will forever miss you. You were my go to gal when I needed to talk to someone about relationship, friendship, and family conflicts, and how to handle them with grace and integrity. You were who I called when I needed help with a recipe, or to figure out how long to keep something in the oven when I was cooking or baking. I loved learning from your wisdom and experience. There really is no better teacher than someone who has 97 years of life experience under their belt. How I LOVED your spaghetti with Aglio and Olio. I now make that dish for both of my Reggies and the LOVE it too <3 I love how you loved my husband. You accepted him with open arms, and it was so special for you to be there at our wedding to bless our unity. Reggie always tells me how much you loved him, especially because he is Irish, just like your one true love, Uncle George, that you get to reconnect with, FINALLY! How fondly you spoke of your love. I can tell by the photos of you and him just how much you both loved each other. You now also finally get to be reconnected with your three baby boys, your reasons for living. You were able to handle life's most significant heart break - the death of your children - not just once, but THREE times, and now, that heartache is over as you reconnect with your children. You were there for me whenever I needed you when I lost my Daddy, and now you get to be with him as well. Can you tell him I said hello and that I miss him? And you get to be with Auntie, and your sisters! How lucky are you ? I hope you are doing nothing but smiling and laughing up in Heaven. You deserve after a life well lived. One particular little person is going to miss you VERY much - and that is your Little "Sexy" Reggie. You always said that he has "sexy eyes and lips". I thought that was so cute of you! You always wanted me to give him a kiss on his head three times, and I promise I will always do that. He loved to show off all of his new moves for you - from clapping, to crawling, to walking, to blowing a kiss, to drinking his baba on his own, and so, so many more. Please watch over him and be his Guardian Angel <3 You even loved our puppy Lucas too. You would smile ear to ear whenever I brought him over. So so sweet. You will be forever missed Nanny. I know I speak for myself, Ronnie, Bobby, Michelle and Alexis when I say thank you for being our stand-in Grandmother, because we never got the chance to meet ours. Thank you for allowing each and every one of us know what a grandmotherly-love feels like. We love you and will miss you forever. Until we meet again ...
I'd like to end this tribute with a poem entitled "If Roses Grow in Heaven"
"If roses grow in Heaven Lord
Please pick a bunch for me.
Place them in my Nanny's arms
and tell her they're from me.
Tell her that I love her and miss her
and when she turns to smile,
Place a kiss upon her cheek
and hold her for a while.
Because remembering her is easy,
I do it everyday.
But there is an ache within my heart
that will never go away."
Rest in the Sweetest of Eternal Peace Nanny, I Love You.
