Obituary of Dolores Adele Tevlin
Dolores Adele (Beirne) Tevlin, 92 of Caldwell, NJ, formerly of West Orange, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 15, 2023.
Dolores was born in April 1931 to James and Adele (Jacobus) Beirne. She grew up in East Orange and graduated from East Orange High School. Dolores married Robert Tevlin, and they raised their 4 children in West Orange. She was a founding member of St. Raphael's Parish in Livingston, NJ. She helped run the family business, Tevlin Trucking, and later worked for Dr. Harvey Silver for many years.
Dolores was an avid reader, incredible cook/hostess, and a talented quilter. Some of her favorite times were spent on the beach in Lavallette, dinners at Don Pepe's in Newark, relaxing and enjoying a good glass of Riesling, drinking a delicious cup of coffee, driving her "57” T-Bird with the top off along with her English Sheepdog, Barney, as her passenger and spending time with lifelong friends in West Orange and at Marion Manor. But beyond all of that, family time was the most important to her and once the grandchildren and great-grandchildren came along, she delighted in her matriarchal role.
Dolores was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert William Tevlin and her cherished son, William Robert Tevlin. She is survived by her loving daughters, Susan Rowek and her husband, Raymond; Nancy Koscinski and her husband, Robert; and Maureen Vittoria and her husband, Lawrence; her adored grandchildren, Robert F. Koscinski; Jennifer McCartney and her husband, Adam; Andrew Rowek and his wife, Alexa; Michael Vittoria and his wife, Marissa; her beautiful great-grandchildren, Eric McCartney; Tessa and Connor Rowek; her dear sister, Carol Germano; and many friends.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 21st from 10:00 to 11:00am at Codey Funeral Home of Caldwell. A prayer service will be given at 11:00am, followed by inurnment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
