Obituary of Ruth Radecke

Ruth Radecke (nee Dominczak) passed away September 17, 2014 in the Wanaque Convelescent Center in Haskell, NJ. She was 97 years old. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Helen's Church, Westfield, NJ on Saturday September 20, 2014 at 10:00 am. Ruth was born and raised in Buffalo, NY with her parents and eight brothers and sisters. She married her husband Edmund Radecke and moved to New York City. They later moved to New London, Ct., before settling in East Orange, New Jersey in 1954. Ruth was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Gertrude Dominczak, a brother Walter, sisters Mamie, Lena, her daughter Elaine Burns and her daughter –in-law Gail Radecke. She is survived by her immediate family, son Robert Radecke, Clark, NJ. His children, grandson, Christopher Radecke, Rahway, and granddaughter Tracy Battaglia, Middletown, (Michael). Brother G. Michael Dominczak, Colts Neck, NJ. Nephew, Raymond Dominczak, Jackson, NJ. Son-in-law, Frank Burns, Oak Ridge, NJ, grand children Melissa Pritchett, (Adrian) West Milford, Drew Burns, (Melissa) Bridgewater, Victoria Thompson, (Marcus) Oak Ridge, and eleven great grandchildren and many niece and nephews. She had a hard life. As a young teenager she became surrogate Mother to her brothers and sisters after the death of their Mother. Still, she survived to become a wonderful parent to her own children and caring and understanding to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was rewarded with a long life and will be tearfully missed by all.
