Joseph J. Bross, Sr., 82, of Livingston, NJ, formerly of Orange, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024.

Joe was born in Orange in February 1942 to Louis and Catherine (McKay) Bross. He graduated from Our Lady of the Valley High School and later served in the National Guard Reserves for our country.

He was employed as a window clerk at the Orange and West Orange branches of the U.S. Post Office for almost 40 years. After his retirement, he worked part time for The New Jersey Sports Authority for 10 years in the mailroom.

Joe enjoyed his daily trips to Dunkin Donuts, occasional trips to casinos, traveling, and attending Rutgers and Seton Hall sporting events. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren – he went to all of their concerts, games and school happenings.

Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, JoAnn (Sciarrillo) Bross, his cherished children, Joseph Bross, Jr.; and Stephanie Ferraro and her husband, John Ferraro; his adored grandchildren, Matthew and Ava; as well as 2 grand-dogs, Claire and Jax. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 2nd from 4:00 to 8:00pm at Codey Funeral Home of Caldwell. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Raphael R.C. Church of Livingston on Friday, May 3rd at 10:30am, followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
