Obituary of Philip Aster

Philip Aster Engineer and Musician Philip Aster, 73, of West Caldwell, NJ, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2014. Family and friends are invited to visit at the Codey & Jones Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Avenue, Caldwell, NJ on Thursday, November 20th from 2-5 & 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass celebrating Phil's life will be offered at St. Aloysius R.C. Church, 219 Bloomfield Avenue, Caldwell on Friday, November 21st at 10:30 am. Phil was born in the Bronx and lived in New Jersey for many years. He graduated from F.I.T. in NY with a bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering. During his years in high school and college he was a dance instructor in the Catskills. This was beginning for his love of Latin Music of which he was an aficionado. Phil was a musician and an accomplished drummer. Mr. Aster retired recently from the Glamorise Foundation in New York. After his retirement he decided to volunteer in the community and joined the Caldwell / West Essex Kiwanis Club of which he was dedicated member. He is survived by his beloved wife, Francine M. (nee Garofalo); devoted children, Amanda Marie, Michael Robert and Jennifer Eve DeFulio; cherished grandchildren, Athena, Nicholas and James; loving sister, Florence Turk and her husband, Jack; dear nephew, Evan and niece, Paula.
