Obituary of Donald Jackson Murray

Donald J. Murray Retired Teacher and Coach Donald Jackson Murray, of Barnstable, MA, formerly of West Caldwell, NJ, passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday, November 19, 2014. He was 81 years old. Don grew up in Nutley, NJ where he lived with his parents - the late Frank and Lyla Jackson Murray (both from Toronto, Ontario, Canada), and his sister, the late Irene Murray Finter. He graduated from Montclair State Teachers College with a bachelor's degree in education, and married Evelyn Alldach of Bernardsville, NJ in 1961, and together they raised their three daughters in West Caldwell. Mr. Murray was a well-liked Business teacher and varsity wrestling coach at James Caldwell High School in West Caldwell for 34 years. After his retirement in 1989, he and Evelyn moved to their beloved Cape Cod, MA where they have enjoyed the past 25 years together. Surviving are his loving wife, Evelyn; devoted daughters Kimberleigh Murray Buttram and her husband Todd from Fredericksburg, VA; Laura Murray of Marston's Mills, MA; and Jennifer Murray Batta and her husband Stephen of Freehold, NJ; nine loving grandchildren, Kyle, Jenna, and Evan Nystrom; Victoria, Joseph, and Connor Griffin; and Kristyn, Jackson, and Dylan Batta.
