James J. Brown Lifelong West Caldwell Resident James J. Brown, 80, of West Caldwell, NJ, died peacefully on Thursday, January 15, 2015, with his family by his side. All are invited to celebrate his life beginning with visiting at the Codey & Jones Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Avenue, Caldwell, NJ (973-226-6696) on Monday, January 19th from 3 – 7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Aloysius R.C. Church, 219 Bloomfield Avenue, Caldwell, NJ on Tuesday, January 20th at 11:00 am. The interment will be private. Born in Orange, NJ to his parents, Walter and Roberta Brown, Jim was a lifelong resident of West Caldwell, where he and his wife, Pat, raised their family. Mr. Brown served in the US Army, attended Saint Benedicts Prep and was a graduate of Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH. He was a Vice President of Sales with CECO Corporation for 30 years and made a lateral move to Scandia Corporation in Fairfield where he retired in 2010. Jim was a longtime member of St. Aloysius R.C. Church, Past President of the Jaycees and past Chairman of the BSA Troop 9 of Caldwell. Jim was always the life of the party. He loved golf, his New York Giants, watching Fox News but most especially he loved spending time with his family. The past 12 years were a gift of life, when he was the recipient of a live liver transplant from his daughter, Beth. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Patricia Ann (nee Thomas); devoted children, James, Jr. (Diane), Barbara Pippitt (Michael), Elizabeth, Mary Pat Pszcola (Michael), Kelly Joy (Darren), Kathleen Frey (Kevin) and Robert (John Joseph); loving grandchildren, Joseph, Erika & Lindsay Brown, Kyle & Dylan Pippitt, Matthew & Meredith Pszcola, Brooke Joy and Ryan Frey; also many close cousins, brother and sisters in-laws, nieces, nephews and many close friends who fondly called him "Action". In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lahey Liver Fund C/O Lahey Clinic Hospital, 41 Mall Road, Burlington, MA 01805, Attn: 4 West would be greatly appreciated.
