Harold F. Moore, 67, of Chatham, N.J., died on February 26, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.
Born April 1, 1947 in Jersey City. Hal graduated from St Peters Preparatory School in Jersey City, earned a B.S. (1968), an M.A. (1970), and a PhD in Philosophy (1971), all from Fordham University, and a J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School (1980.)
Hal was a member of the faculty in the philosophy department at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana from 1971 to 1980. He practiced law in New York City for the rest of his career, at Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy, Chase Manhattan Bank, and, for the last 26 years, at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher &Flom LLP, where Hal was a partner and the founder and head of the Project Finance practice. Hal was the lead lawyer on more than 160 domestic and international project and corporate financings, primarily of energy and infrastructure projects. He was admitted to the bar in New York and New Jersey and published in numerous professional journals. Hal was a leader in his field and devoted to his work. He was also an adjunct professor of law at Fordham University School of Law, where he taught International Project Finance and International Business Transactions.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Ann Moore, his daughters Melissa Moore and Jennifer Johnson, his son-in-law Derek Johnson, his beloved grandchildren Julia, Matthew, Jack, Liza, and Cate, his sisters Catherine Curran and Patrice Fiore, his brother the Honorable Thomas Moore, and their families. Hal was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Services to honor and celebrate his life will begin with visitation at the William A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Chatham, NJ on Monday, March 2, 2015 from 3-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Corpus Christi Parish, 234 Southern Blvd., Chatham Twp., NJ on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 10:30 am. Burial will be private.
