So saddened to loose such a vibrant personality as Joanne. She was the bubble of light, laughter, and keen wit as she took her ritual long walks 'round the neighborhood here on Bond with her dogs - stopping for a pleasant 'how-te-do" with neighbors up and down the tree-lined hill. We often exchanged news as the seasons changed -including the seasonal quip: '...can't wait for it to Snow... so we can get out our sleds and have some fun here'.
Her zest for life will be remembered in Good Ole WC.

Not only did I have the privilege of having Ms.Longo as an English teacher in High School, I was also privileged to have her as a neighbor for many years. I talked to her almost every day since she was always out walking her dogs. She would always make me laugh. I am still saddened that she passed away & miss her deeply. I am glad that I got to spend as much time with her as I did the last few weeks of her life. Taking her to the bank and going to Shop Rite for her were a blast. She would purposely write down funny things on her shopping list just to make me laugh. My favorite memories of Ms. Longo was the time we spent sitting out on her back porch and talking about her time as a teacher. She was an amazing person and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her!

I was saddened to read of Miss Longo's passing this weekend. I enjoyed her classes at GCJHS when I was her student in the late 1970s. She was passionate about her subject and craft, and supportive of her students. Although these classes were quite some years ago, I'm happy with memories of a bubbly Miss Longo at the blackboard. I'm sure she will be missed by her family and friends.

I worked with Joanne for 9 years as a fellow teacher at Grover Cleveland Jr. High in Caldwell. I was also in 2 of the plays she directed at Caldwell College - Private Lives and A Doll's House. Joanne was a vibrant, warm and friendly person, generous with her time and her friendship. She was also the life of the party, always ready to celebrate life and have fun. But I think the thing I will most remember about Joanne was her hospitality. Her door was always open and she always had time to listen and care and support. Joanne was a loyal friend who will be missed very much by all who came to know and love her.

I attended Mt. Carmel School with Joanne back on the '50s, graduating with her in 1960. I remember her fondly as a very bright girl well-liked by all. The world is a very depleted place without her commanding presence.
