Joanne Longo Teacher, Realtor Associate Writer & Director Joanne Longo, left us to seek the light of God on Wednesday, August 20, 2014. Miss Longo was born and raised in Ridgewood, NJ for 16 years. In the 60's she spent her college years living in Mystic, CT and working at the Mystic Seaport. In 1968 she was employed by the Caldwell / West Caldwell School System as an English Teacher, for 33 years. After attending Caldwell College and receiving a Masters in Literature from Montclair State she resided in Essex Fells, NJ before moving to West Caldwell, NJ in 1984. Longo was a Realtor Associate for 22 years and was employed with Arcadia Realtors in Roseland, NJ. Miss Longo was the author of two unpublished children's books, Comin' Thru and A Good Sport: A Toddler Manual, which she illustrated herself. Serving as an adjunct faculty member in the 1970's Joanne was the founder of the drama group "Upstage Players" at Caldwell College. She directed several seasons of productions, including, Private Lives, A Doll's House and Picnic. Miss Longo loved her cottage on Bond Place and enjoyed landscaping her property as well as spending time with her dogs, Molly, Sport and Spanky, A small private celebration of her life will be held in her home with family, friends and neighbors. A Funeral Mass will be held at The Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 787 Franklin Lakes Road, Franklin Lakes, NJ on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 10:00 am. The inurnment will follow at Mary Rest Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ. Arrangements are in care of the Codey & Jones Funeral Home of Caldwell, NJ.
