Obituary of Wayne John Sedeyn

Wayne John Sedeyn, 71, of North Caldwell, NJ, passed away with his family at his side on Thursday, May 23, 2024, after a long battle with esophageal cancer.

Wayne was born and raised in Paterson, NJ by John and Ellen (Tuohey) Sedeyn. He graduated from Passaic County Technical Institute High School and was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Wayne was stationed in Alaska. He was always proud to serve his country. After returning from his service, Wayne worked at ADT Security then started his own company – S&S Alarm Systems Inc. in 1984.

In his spare time, Wayne loved fishing and working at his work bench, always tinkering on a project. He owned racehorses, which made the winners circle several times. In his younger days, Wayne enjoyed his motorcycle and '68 Camaro. He enjoyed the beach and spending time outdoors with nature. Wayne was known for his kindness and always helping others. He was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed.

Wayne is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa (Fano) Serrani; his cherished stepdaughters, Angela DePaola and her husband, Kevin; and Corina Serrani; his loving brothers, John Sedeyn and his significant other, Lynda Giampapa; and Mark Sedeyn and his wife, Jane; his mother-in-law, Lena Fano; his sisters-in-law, Lucille Alexander and her husband, John; and Laura Sciacca; his brother in law, Nicholas Fano and his wife, Maria; many adored nieces and nephews, loving cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, and his brother, Roy Sedeyn.
