Obituary of Gregory Lawrence Dillon

Gregory "Pickle" Dillon, Sr. King of the Valley Gregory Lawrence Dillon, Sr., of West Orange, NJ, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was 63 years old. Visiting will be held at the Codey & Jones Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Avenue, Caldwell, NJ (973-226-6696) on Friday, December 20th from 4-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Valley R.C. Church, Orange, NJ on Saturday, December 21st at 11:00 AM. Greg was born and raised in Orange, NJ and has lived the past 29 years in West Orange. Mr. Dillon retired in 2010 as the Chief Code Enforcement Official for the City of Orange after 38 years of service to the community. Greg was also the proprietor of Dillon's Tavern in West Orange for the past 28 years. He was honored as the Grand Marshal in 2012 and the Deputy Grand Marshal in 1992 of the St. Patrick's Day Parades in West Orange. Greg was the past West Ward Democratic Chairman in Orange and the founder of the Dillon Association. Surviving are his beloved wife, Linda (nee Tutalo); devoted sons Gregory Jr., Patrick, with his girlfriend Theresa, John, with his wife, Natalie and Brian, with his fiance, Melissa; a loving mother Jean (nee Costa) and father-in-law Domenick Tutalo; a loving sister Laure Salerno (Gregory); dear brothers Kevin (Debbie) and Douglas; brothers-in-law Daniel Tutalo (Karen) and Domenick Tutalo (Jennifer); also many cherished nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving daughter Dori-Lynn Dillon; father John Lawrence; mother-in-law MaryEllen Tutalo and a nephew Larry Salerno.
